About Us

78 years of love, friendships, ambitions, failures, progress, inspiration, tradition, and life, all enclosed in a private resort that bears his name. Antonio Augusto Vetrugno is the name that his father Giuseppe (Pippi) Vetrugno and his mother Vita Santoro gave to their firstborn on August 24, 1946, in the aftermath of World War II. At just 16 years old, Vita was still a young girl when she gave birth to this determined and artistically talented boy, who at the age of 11 had to leave his beautiful village to join his parents in Belgium, where Pippi began working in the mines.

Determined to one day return as a wealthy man and give back to his country what he had learned during his life as a successful entrepreneur and tour operator, he promised his father that the family would find a way back to Carmiano (Lecce). Thus, he decided to give a new destiny to the resort, transforming it into a private and exclusive luxury resort for the lucky few members of our club and for clients who love to rent the masseria as a private home for a week or more.

The masseria is an essential element of the Apulian landscape. These fortified farmhouses, which dot this region of southeastern Italy, are rustic yet luxurious stone buildings, now often transformed into high-end rural retreats.
